Just got back from a boat trip at Whitby, just started to get some really good size cod then this came along side and wouldn't leave us for about 45 minutes ended up moving in the end to another wreck.

I wouldn’t like to have a guess at the weight but it was a good 30 feet frank, the boat is 38 foot and it wasn’t much shorter than that.
They not that uncommon really you do see the odd one or two in the summer months over this side, we also see pilot whales quite often but mostly when fishing out of brid, sometimes they can be a nuisance as they won't leave you untill they’ve had a good scratch on the underside of the boat, like on tuesday we just started getting some good spraggs but had to go to another wreck as it was swimming through our lines and cutting the braid.
We still had a good day though with some nice cod, ling and good pollack, plenty of whiting and mackerel about too, and most of all great weather Very Happy

Here's my best two of the day.
